Well all I can say is welcome to REBIRTH! This issue was a great intro to the world of Detective Comics. Even though I’ll always love the Batman stories and comics, sometimes we just need to go back to how it all started.
In this issue, and warning there will be spoilers. In this issue we are met with Batman and Batwoman doing their thing in GOTHAM, but what we need to pay attention to is the Batman intro. Batman finds out that he’s being watched by drones after taking on Azrael (Jean-Paul Valley). He finds one of the drones and that’s when it cuts to Batwoman who ends up in her house only to find Batman waiting for her. This is where the shit goes down.
Batman tells her that they are being watched and that they need to team up to train the younger vigilantes. To gain her trust, Batman reveals to her that while he is not a Kane his mother was. He reveals to her that he is Bruce Wayne! What the FU… She already knew. He asks that she help him train and develop the recruits to be ready for what is to come. She agrees.
There was a lot of story in between, but what you need to know is we are introduced to the following people.
The end of the issue even though I knew it was coming, blew my mind. How will this team stack up? Will Clayface be able to work with the team? What are your thoughts? Will you be picking this one up?
An unknown predator begins outdoing Batman, taking down dangerous threats with military precision. It’s up to the Dark Knight and series costar Batwoman to rally and train the young heroes of Gotham City to end this mysterious threat!
WHAT NOW: Batman and Batwoman begin training Spoiler, Red Robin and Cassandra Cain, but is the villainous Clayface ready for redemption?
